New high altitude hiking trail Heidbodme – Antrona Pass
The new high altitude hike Heidbodme – Antrona Pass attracts with a high alpine and geologically very interesting landscape, a versatile flora as well as unique scenical impressions and consistently gorgeous overlooks to the Monte Rosa massif. The high altitude hike can be started from both sides, either at the mountain station Heidbodme (2’400m) and walk via the Augstchumme (2’750m) and the Antrona Pass (2’838m) to the Jazzilücke (3’081m) from where you go down until the Mattmark dam (2’197m), or starting this impressive tour at the Mattmark dam. Walking time: 7 hrs.

The Felskinn - Britannia - Plattjen high-altitude trail
You take the Alpin Express gondola-lift up to Felskinn (2991 m). From here you walk to the Britannia Hut (3030 m), where you have a breathtaking view of the Mattmark reservoir. You climb down via the Chessjen glacier (a guide is not necessary) to Heidefriedhof (2734 m) and walk around the flank of the Mittaghorn to Plattjen (2570 m). The gondola-lift takes you from here back to Saas-Fee.

Kreuzboden-Almagelleralp-Furggstalden
The gondola-lift from Saas-Grund takes you to Kreuzboden at 2400 m above sea-level. The hiking path takes your from here to the Triftgrätji viewpoint. The high-altitude hike continues via Grundberg to the slopes overlooking the Almagell valley. From the Hotel Almagelleralp it is another hour's walk down to Saas-Almagell.
Walking time Kreuzboden - Almagelleralp: 2 ½ hrs.
Almagelleralp - Saas-Almagell: 1 hr.

The Gspon high-altitude trail
One of the most beautiful high-altitude trails in the Valais and one of the highlights of your stay in the Saas valley! - amidst fascinating mountain scenery with meadows of flowers and alpine pastures following traditional irrigation canals ("suonen").
